No, its too late for that now. The GOP is stuck with this selection weither they like it or not. A few months ago maybe, but not with ten days to go. Any chance they had at all would go out the window in my opinion. And yes, McCain would get tested in the exact same manner and people are crazy if they think he won't. He very much would play into there hands.
