Help me out!!! Non-verbally clueless.?

When walking down a corridor towards a group of people. If my head is always looking towards them but I look away to the side of them with my eyes by a bit, am I drawing attention to myself or intimidating them with it? I bugged people today and I'm not sure what I did. I've done these kinds of things before.
