Why do some people become evangelical Christians?

The Evangel is the good news about Christ. It was first announced by angels to humanity on the night Jesus was born. Nobody who appreciates just how magnificent the good news of salvation in Christ is can keep quiet about it. We have to share it! The Apostle Paul was a great evangelist, was he not? You don't object to his pion for sharing the gospel, do you? Here's the critical test of a true evangelist; Paul said he came to the first century believers preaching nothing but Christ, and Him crucified (1Cor 1:23 & 2:2). An evangelist points continually to Christ and the Holy Spirit's job is to lift up Christ and to glorify Him. So if a Christian is filled with the Spirit of Christ, s/he will direct attention to the risen Christ.
