91 Ford Probe; while driving car began to slow down, RPM's dropped to only 2000 RPM. Now it won't get above it?

Car will still start, but I can't get it to rev up past about 2000 rpm and that's with the gas almost to the floor. Will still go but not enough power to exceed 10 mph.
