Aeropostale hoodie sizing?

i know for there shirts i am an xl, ive only bought one hoodie from them, witch said it was a "skater" and it was an xxl, and it was slightly too small, i need to know if i get a regular hoodie from aero(mens) if i should get xl or xxl ( just wondering if the sizing between shirts and hoddies is that different, because i know it is for several other companys)
